FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What do you charge for lessons?

Rockphonix has two ways of pricing lessons, Pay as You Play and a Monthly Membership.

Pay as You Play is great for an introduction for those that want to sample the Rockphonix experience, allowing you to simply book online, pay and turn up for a lesson. Prices are £20 for a 30 minute lesson and £35 for a full hour. It is also possible to block book lessons for a discount, check out our Players Packages when booking.

Our Rockphonix Membership is encouraged for all customers taking two or more lessons a month. The monthly membership cost is £7.95 with lessons prices reduced to £15 and £30 for 30 minute and hour long lessons respectively. This means with discounts applied you're saving money by your third lesson in any month.

  • What is your approach to teaching music production?

Rockphonix is not a traditional music school in that our approach to teaching is largely informal based on the aspirations of the student.

We still like to create lesson plans and a structured  learning plan however this will be created in conjunction with your teacher and is unique to every student.

So whether you are a complete beginner or you've been playing a while we can help.

  • Where are you located in Worcester?

The Rockphonix premises is located on the first floor of 63 Broad Street. We are opposite HSBC (you will see our signs in the window). The entrance is located to the right.

Please note that unfortunately it is stairs access only to the teaching rooms.

  • Do you teach music production to beginners?

We absolutely teach those who are entirely new to music production! Even if you've never sat in front of a computer before, it does not matter.

Our teachers are accustomed to working with students of all ability levels.

  • What ages do your music production lessons cater for?

Music production lessons are perfect for anyone looking to start their journey into recording. We teach students of all ages, from around 7 years old to 65 and above.

Whether you have a little legend wanting to have fun or you're a more mature student looking to learn a new skill, we're sure our teachers can help you.

  • Do I need my own music production setup at home?

While of course it helps to be able to practice outside of lesson time, it is not essential. The teachers are great at setting excercies to keep you busy at home even if you don't own your own computer.

  • Do you cater for formal exams?

For those looking for more formal learning we have teamed up with Trinity College London to offer their Rock and Pop exams.

Trinity’s Rock and Pop music exams are all about performance and whether you’re just learning as a hobby or you're looking to become a music maestro, they are a great way of achieving your music grades whilst playing music you know and love.

They can help you learn essential skills in your chosen instrument and are a great way of learning for those who really want to get stuck in. They also count towards UCAS points for A-Level and college students looking to head to university.

  • When are your business hours?

The time of your lesson will depend on both yours and your teacher's availability. We recommend booking a regular slot if possible.

Our teachers are often flexible in their availability right up to 8pm at night.

Our reception is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 3pm so please do feel free to call in. Outside of these times please email us all leave a message.
