Luke is a contemporary fingerstyle guitarist and Cardiff guitar teacher, playing a wide range of music and styles on the instrument. Luke began his musical journey at the age of six. He quickly became infatuated with the instrument, spending countless hours practising and honing his skills. In his 19 years with the instrument Luke has played and performed at both county and national levels; performing on television, in musicals and spending several years in the National Youth Jazz Band of Wales. Luke has received many awards and qualifications for his playing, including the Ralph Davies award for the ‘Most Promising Young Jazz Musician’, and two grade 8 distinctions in guitar. Most recently Luke has completed his studies at leading European conservatoire Leeds College of Music, studying popular music performance. During his time there he trained in music tuition, and ran workshops with Leeds College of Music’s prestigious ‘Saturday Music School’. Luke is also the author a book of original arrangements of Welsh music for solo guitar, ‘Songs of Wales for Fingerstyle Guitar’ released through major American publisher Mel Bay Publications.
